04How Hello Expat helps

Your first three steps in Denmark, in order

Hello Expat gives you the order and the official source for each step. Moovy prepares your file and drafts your emails. You apply and go to the appointments yourself.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Get your EU residence document

Apply to SIRI online (form OD1A if you are an employee), then go to a SIRI office in person within 30 days. It is free for employees and has no expiry date.

    Source: SIRI (nyidanmark.dk)

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Register for your CPR number

With your document and a home where you really live, go in person to your Borgerservice or to an International Citizen Service centre. Your CPR number is given to you there.

    Source: Lifeindenmark.dk

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Wait for your health card

Your yellow health card (sundhedskort) arrives by post two to three weeks after your CPR registration, with your GP's name on it. Then order your MitID.

You

I'm an EU citizen with a job offer in Copenhagen. What do I do first, and does it cost anything?

Moovy

Start with your EU residence document from SIRI. You apply online, with form OD1A if you are an employee, and it is free. Then you go to a SIRI office in person within 30 days. After that you need a home where you really live, because your CPR number depends on it. You register for it at the Borgerservice, or at an International Citizen Service centre in the bigger cities. Your health card follows two to three weeks later.

    A vault for your papers

Your documents are encrypted before they are stored, with a different key for each document, kept apart from our servers. Nobody on the team has a tool to open them. Moovy reads each document you add to file it, and every reading appears in your log. You can delete everything whenever you like.

When Moovy reads a document, the text is processed by our AI provider, in the United States.
