Sweden runs on one number, and you get it by registering
Banks, BankID and most services ask for your personnummer, and it comes with your registration at the Skatteverket. The Skatteverket quotes about five weeks before an officer takes your file.

I'm moving to Sweden for eight months for work. Can I get a personnummer?
Probably not. A personnummer comes with registration in the population register, and that is for stays of at least a year. For eight months you can ask the Skatteverket for a samordningsnummer, a coordination number, if you can show you need it, for a job for example. You book an identity check in person first. The Skatteverket quotes up to five weeks before an officer takes your case, so start early. Check your own case on their site: the rules depend on your nationality.
